Rocket Girls

Abstract

Join us for the Opening Preview Event for the International Women’s Air and Space Museum Travelling Exhibit Rocket Girls. The exhibit features over 26 panels of photos and history of the Female Astronauts in the Space Shuttle Program. We are pleased to include Ray Garner III, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, as the keynote speaker. The event will include light refreshments. When NASA’s Space Shuttle Program ended in 2011, the International Women’s Air & Space Museum saw a unique opportunity to spotlight female astronauts and their role in the Space Shuttle Program. Prior to the Space Shuttle Program, women had never flown in space at NASA.
