Abstract

A free event hosted by the Astronomy students at TAMU, I’ll be talking about how astronomers measure and talk about the brightnesses of stars, from its roots in ancient history to the modern use of telescopic filters. How do we even define a star’s brightness? These are questions with layers of cursed history beneath them. Come by and hear all about it!
